Winners of the inaugural Port Goegrpahe canals Christmas lights display have donated their $1,000 winnings to Fishability Busselton and a family in need.
Residents Bill and Maureen Cherry embraced their festive spirit and decorated their home which took them a week to setup.
Ms Cherry said it was a lot of fun and a pleasure to do, seeing the children’s faces and excitement.
“We have really never had Christmas lights on the canal people usually put up a string of lights, but this time the amount of people who got involved was fantastic,” Mr Cherry said.
“We were really pleased we did it, we had one small boat come past with a child in the back, we had a 2.5 metre Santa, the child was yelling out, ‘hello Santa.'”
Fishability coordinator Michelle Lee said the donation meant a lot which would help them purchase new electric reels.
Fishability is a not-for-profit organisation which provides recreational fishing opportunities to people of all abilities across the South-West.
Ms Lee said the donation had come at the perfect time.
“We are absolutely stoked,” she said.
